Keratoconous Treatment

C3R (Corneal Collagen Cross linking with Riboflavin)
This non-invasive procedure strengthens corneal tissue to halt bulging of the eye’s surface in Keratoconus. With CXL, the outer portion of the cornea (epithelium) is removed to allow application of riboflavin, a type of B vitamin, which then is activated with UV light. Another investigational method of strengthening the cornea, known as transepithelial corneal cross-linking, is performed with the corneal surface left intact.

INTACS implants for Keratoconus treatment
INTACS implants for Keratoconus treatment, using IFSTM femtosecond IntraLase technology is now available at Narang Eye Institute. Intacs corneal implants is an FDA approved option for the Keratoconus patient, giving hope for individuals experiencing an intolerance to contact lens and are facing a corneal transplant. Intacs correct vision by flattening the cornea to refocus light rays and improve vision. For keratoconus, Intacs work by flattening the steep part of the cornea or cone to reduce vision distortions. Today, Intacs corneal implants is the best possible option to stabilize the cornea, improve vision and potentially defer the need for a corneal transplant for patients having Keratoconus problem. INTACS corneal implants are designed for long-term vision correction. If you are not satisfied with results or you having visual problems, then it can be removed. Intacs can be replaced with different-size implants or removed for good. You have the option of replacing them with new rings at a later date if your prescription changes with age.
